Le village de Lacoux est un hameau de la commune d'Hauteville-Lompnes.

Son nom apparaît dès 1169 grâce au pape Alexandre III.
À la Révolution, Lacoux était une commune du canton d'Aranc puis en 1800, elle dépend du canton d'Hauteville. Sa population, stable jusqu'en 1920, commence alors à décroître et n'est plus que de 100 habitants en 1964, date de son rattachement à la commune.

In the revolution, Lacoux was a municipality of the canton of Aranc then in 1800, it depends on the canton of Hauteville. Its population, stable until 1920, begins then to decrease and is not more than of 100 inhabitants in 1964, dates its fastening with the municipality.

La vraie nouveauté du modèle est en fait d'associer sur un même véhicule les solutions les plus modernes de l'époque avec, en plus de son mode de transmission, une structure monocoque, des freins hydrauliques et une suspension à roues indépendantes. Cette Citroën a ouvert la voie à la production en grande série de véhicules équipés de cette technique, ses qualités lui valant une longue carrière et une production de 760 000 exemplaires.
